MISSION

We see every landscape project as a unique opportunity to optimize our clients’ experience of nature. We aim to find sustainable solutions that enhance a site’s value, beauty and function for entertaining, health and wellness.

 

Established in 1993 in Marin, CA, but now working in the USA and Latin America, the studio is led by: Eric Blasen, a landscape architect, who oversees everything man-made from pools and fireplaces to tennis courts and chicken coops; and Silvina Blasen, a horticulturalist, who designs and implements all the natural elements, from flower and herb gardens to fields, ponds, orchards and forests.

 

We aim to have a light touch on the land through intelligent siting, preserving significant trees, sourcing materials locally and, where possible, harvesting stone from the site. We have a bias towards drought-tolerant species, often native ones, that are in harmony with the local ecosystem.
